Drupal Howto: Use Modr8 and Modr8 Bypass to protect your site from spam

The 5 or 6 regular readers of this blog may remember that a while back our Unreality Shout site was attacked by spammers and pretty heavily vandalised. I asked for suggestions for workflow solutions that would prevent a repeat of this, but without making it harder for established members to post content.

Drupal question: Moderating content from new users on a site

A question for Drupallers who manage community sites where members can post content: Is there a way to hold the first few posts from a new member for moderation until they've earned trust in the community?

A honeytrap suggestion for Drupal and Mollom

Drupal logoI have a couple of dormant domains at the moment that I'm always threatening to do something with. For the moment though, they serve nicely as testing sandbox for various Drupal-y things I'm working on.

Comments closed (due to spam)

This is just a short note to say that I'm closing comments on this site for a little while. Over the last week or so, I've been deluged with spam, despite having Drupal's highly regarded Mollom module installed.

I'm not going to bother fighting spammers by moderating comments constantly. Even when reporting spam comments to Mollom, the same stuff just keeps coming back: mostly Tiffany jewellry and Ugg boots spam. If I can't see the benefit of reporting spam to Mollom, then why bother?

What to do instead?
