Death

Stone skull detail

A closer look at the skull at the bottom of this picture. Maybe it's the plethora of skulls on rock album covers growing up, but I'm fascinated by them and the variety of depictions of skulls.

Cherub and Skull Gravestone

Gravestone with cherub and skull

Another photo from the crypt at St Martin In The Fields - this one's an ornate gravestone from 1670. I love these things, as morbid as they are - cherub at the top and a sinister skull at the bottom. They really don't make them like this anymore.

Skull & Crossbones on a gravestone

Skull and crossbones

This'll be the first photo post from our trip to London last week. Lisa and I found ourselves with a bit of time before our flight home, and we wandered into the crypt at St Martin In The Fields (just beside Trafalgar Square).

My Untimely Demise

Dead at the bottom of the stairs

Every now and then, you get an opportunity to be photographed at the brink of death. There's a shot of me apparently hanging from a cliff edge that's quite convincing (I was standing on a fairly reliable outcrop at the time).

I came across this shot, taken on holiday in Ibiza. I remember seeing the huge flight of steps and asking Lisa to go to the top and take a photo. By the time she got there and turned around to take the shot, I was lying on the ground.
